"Baby's Dowry"

Project Description: Within the framework of the “Food and/or Basic Material Assistance to the most deprived” Operational Programme of Cyprus, the Social Welfare Services are implementing the Project “Baby’s Dowry”, which is co-funded by the European Union’s Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived and the Republic of Cyprus. The Project’s budget is estimated at €3.600.000 for the financial period 2014- 2020 period. Through the Project, the beneficiaries will receive the Baby’s Dowry packet, consisting of specific items for their infants such as: stroller, crib, baby mattress, baby bath tub, baby change mat, etc. Project Objectives: This Project aims to: (a) Reduce material deprivation, enhance social inclusion measures and reduce the risk of social exclusion of the beneficiaries and especially of their children. (b) Provide better living conditions for the end recipients and support the newborns’ healthy growth. (c) Alleviate the worst forms of poverty and social exclusion in accordance with the “Europe 2020” Strategy.
